Ephesians: The Armour of God - Part 2 by Kurt

David Lyons

BELTED WITH TRUTH

In our previous blog we talked about the importance of being equipped with God’s

armor so we can stand spiritually firm in His power. God’s armor is made up of seven

different pieces. Today we will look at vs 14 , “Stand firm then, with the belt of truth

buckled around your waist,” the belt of truth.

The purpose of a soldier’s belt was to hold all of his armor together. In the same

way spiritually, truth is what holds all of God’s armor together. So what is truth you ask?

John 14:6 Jesus says, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the

Father except through me.” Jesus is truth and how we learn more about Jesus is

through the Word which is Him in the flesh. In a world where it is difficult to know what

is true and what isn’t, and where the world is telling you that what ever is true to you is

truth, we know that the truth is Jesus and what ever He says is true. The Bible is our

guide for truth. Do you know the Bible/God’s Word so you can discern what is truth and

what isn’t? Do you have God’s Word hidden in your heart so you might not sin against

Him? Strap on that belt and fasten it securely so you know the truth, He can set you

free, and you can stand firm in His mighty power.
